Asia’h Epperson was my favorite of the night and is tops on my list so far. Two days before her audition, she called to tell her father how much she loved him and how she wished he was with her. Thirty minutes later, her brother called to tell her that their father had just died in a car accident. She chose to go ahead with her audition in Atlanta anyway. When Simon Cowell asked her what she was going to sing, she explained that she had prepared something but, due to the death of her dad, she sang LeAnn Rimes‘ song, “How Do I Live.” With her voice heavy and cracking with emotion, Asia’h made it through and made Paula among others cry.
