When I first saw the word djembe I did not know what it meant. I then did a search online and came to learn that it was a
type of West African drum. I was surprised to see how many different results came from searching one word, but that is the
wonderful world of the internet. You can learn about any one word by doing a simple online search. The Remo djembe is becoming very popular world wide, there are even videos of it over the internet, and whole websites completely devoted to this particular type of drum. In the world of drums, I cannot find such a valuable drum like Bodhran. It is an Irish drum played in solo or in corous. I have seen at several occassions that the Bodhran drums are played at different places. Like on Independence day parade of India, I saw the army parade on its bands beat. It is mostly played solo in irish pubs, discos, bar, festivals etc. The beater of the Bodhran is also a unique one. It uses a two headed beaters called as tipper. This particular type of beater produces fast rhythm. Due to these qualities i bought one Bodhran drum for my use. I played it oftenly. As it is equally useful for beginners and experts. Though i know its perfect play. I added it into my drums list and drum collection, as it is also a good peice of ornaments. It plays double role for me. Drumming and ornamenting.
